State Licensed

Registered with DFPS in September of 2007

The state requires the following of anyone licensed or registered:
- Criminal and abuse/neglect background checks every 24 months for everyone living and working in the home 14yrs or older
- All staff are CPR and First-Aid certified for infants, children, and adults
- Adhere to state requirements for ratio and standards
- Periodic inspections. I have a perfect inspection report as a registered and licensed child-care home.
*(Ask to see my inspection reports for a registered home if you are interested as they are no longer available online.)
- Monthly fire drills. I also teach the children to crawl low if they smell smoke and how to stop-drop-and-roll if they catch fire.
- Quarterly severe weather drills
- At least 20hrs of training per year for myself and at least 15hrs of training per year for all staff.
- Non-smoking and drug-free environment
- Vision and hearing screenings are required in licensed homes for all children 4yrs of age and older. As a courtesy to you, I am certified by the Texas DSHS to perform these screenings, and the findings will be made available to you at that time.
- Although not required by state regulations, I also participate in the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program which provides guidelines and performs inspections regarding how and what type of food is served
